Ephesians 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;”
Ephesians 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God 2as a fragrant aroma.
2 Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us. The Lord is the supreme example in His self-sacrificing love for lost sinners (4:32; ROM 5:8–10). He took human sin upon Himself and gave up His very life that men might be redeemed from their sin, receive a new and holy nature, and inherit eternal life (see note on 2Co 5:21). They are henceforth to be imitators of His great love in the newness and power of the Holy Spirit, who enables them to demonstrate divine love. a fragrant aroma. Christ’s offering of Himself for fallen man pleased and glorified His heavenly Father, because it demonstrated in the most complete and perfect way God’s sovereign, perfect, unconditional, and divine kind of love.
43 years today, I was blessed to marry my beautiful wife. Who would have thought, I would ever be so blessed, to be blessed with such a wife as her. It is an undeserved gift, that I am truly grateful for. Thank you Lord.
“An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.”

1:12 Blessed.
See notes on Mt 5:4, 10, 11. Believers who successfully endure trials are truly happy (cf. 5:11).
perseveres.
See note on v. 3. In this context, it also describes the passive, painful survival of a trial and focuses on the victorious outcome. Such a person never relinquishes his saving faith in God; thus this concept is closely related to the doctrine of eternal security and perseverance of the believer (see note on Mt 24:13; cf. Jn 14:15, 23; 1Jn 2:5, 6, 15, 19; 4:19; 1Pe 1:6–8). trial. See note on v. 2. approved. Lit. “passed the test” (see note on v. 2, “trials”). The believer has successfully and victoriously gone through his trials, indicating he is genuine because his faith has endured like Job’s.
crown of life. Best translated “the crown which is life.”
“Crown” was the wreath put on the victor’s head after ancient Greek athletic events. Here, it denotes the believer’s ultimate reward, eternal life, which God has promised to him and will grant in full at death or at Christ’s coming (see notes on 2Ti 4:8; Rev 2:10; cf. 1Pe 5:4).

2:12 obeyed. Their faithful response to the divine commands Paul had taught them (cf. Ro 1:5; 15:18; 2Co 10:5, 6). work out your salvation. The Gr. verb rendered “work out” means “to continually work to bring something to fulfillment or completion.” It cannot refer to salvation by works (cf. Ro 3:21–24; Eph 2:8, 9), but it does refer to the believer’s responsibility for active pursuit of obedience in the process of sanctification (see notes on 3:13, 14; Ro 6:19; cf. 1Co 9:24–27; 15:58; 2Co 7:1; Gal 6:7–9; Eph 4:1; Col 3:1–17; Heb 6:10, 11; 12:1, 2; 2Pe 1:5–11). fear and trembling. The attitude with which Christians are to pursue their sanctification. It involves a healthy fear of offending God and a righteous awe and respect for Him (cf. Pr 1:7; 9:10; Is 66:1, 2). † 2:13 God who is at work in you. Although the believer is responsible to work (v. 12), the Lord actually produces the good works and spiritual fruit in the lives of believers (Jn 15:5; 1Co 12:6). This is accomplished because He works through us by His indwelling Spirit (Ac 1:8; 1Co 3:16, 17; 6:19, 20; cf. Gal 3:3). to will and to work. God energizes both the believer’s desires and his actions. The Gr. word for “will” indicates that He is not focusing on mere desires or whimsical emotions but on the studied intent to fulfill a planned purpose. God’s power makes His church willing to live godly lives (cf. Ps 110:3). good pleasure. God wants Christians to do what satisfies Him. Cf. Eph 1:5, 9; 2Th 1:11.

We must, stop trying to earn Grace. When we truly believe the Gospel, we understand that in no way, can we measure up to Gods standards, but by surrendering ourselves to his mercy, and allowing him to transform us, by his spirit and his word in our lives.
1st Corinthians 15:33 says this…..Do not be deceived: ” Bad company, corrupts good Morals”
Proverbs 13:20 says this: “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.”

“He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.”

Jesus, you care so much for us, that you gave your life for me and for others. As unworthy as we were, you took the penalty for our sins, that we might live. All you ask, is that we believe, by walking in faith. Thank you, Jesus.
