Lord, forgive us, when follow after man’s wisdom and not seek you. You are the author of all wisdom and seek to have relationship, with us, and walk the path before us. Help us not to look back, but keeping our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of the race. HE is our example, fully human and fully God. May our paths be directed by you and you alone. Amen.
A warning from God, through the Old Testament prophet, Habakkuk. Not so common in the US, but we have our own objects or things we do, that we can call idols. Let’s hear from you, on what they are.
““What profit is the idol when its maker has carved it, Or an image, a teacher of falsehood? For its maker trusts in his own handiwork When he fashions speechless idols. Woe to him who says to a piece of wood, ‘Awake!’ To a mute stone, ‘Arise!’ And that is your teacher? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, And there is no breath at all inside it.
