Money is to be used for Gods purposes to further His Kingdom, both here on earth, and in Heaven. It is not for our own selfish pleasures. Heart check for those of us who live in this country. May God help us to struggle against the American Dream for our own selfish purposes. Not saying we can’t enjoy what God has given us, but that we certainly don’t focus on it.
We are set free from the slavery of sin. This is not because we are so good, but because Jesus was so good. Jesus stands ready to rescue all who reach out and take his free gift of that life vest that will save your life.

Paul’s main point in this series of rhetorical questions is that a clear presentation of the gospel message must precede true saving faith. True faith always has content—the revealed Word of God. Salvation comes to those who hear and believe the facts of the gospel.
The good news is not only a gracious offer but a command to believe and repent ( 1:4–6 ; 2:8 ; 6:17 ; Ac 6:7 ; 2Th 1:7 , 8 ; Heb 5:9 ).
