What does God require of Man? (See notes below Image)

3–5 This was the Lord’s appeal. With tenderness and emotion, the divine Plaintiff recalled His many gracious acts toward them, almost to the point of assuming the tone of a defendant. Noting their trek from bondage in Egypt to their own homeland, God had provided leadership (v. 4), reversed the attempts of Balaam to curse the people (v. 5a; cf. Nu 22–24), and miraculously parted the Jordan River (v. 5b) so they could cross over from Shittim, located E of the Jordan, to Gilgal on the W side near Jericho. God had faithfully kept all His promises to them. † 6:6, 7 Micah, as though speaking on behalf of the people, asked rhetorically how, in light of God’s faithfulness toward them, they could continue their hypocrisy by being outwardly religious but inwardly sinful. † 6:8 Micah’s terse response ( v. 8) indicated they should have known the answer to the rhetorical question. Spiritual blindness had led them to offer everything except the one thing He wanted—a spiritual commitment of the heart from which right behavior would ensue (cf. Dt 10:12–19; Mt 22:37–39). This theme is often represented in the OT (cf. 1Sa 15:22; Is 1:11–20; Jer 7:21–23; Hos 6:6; Am 5:15).

The Book of Joel: An animated story from “The Bible Project”

In this book, Joel reflects on the “Day of the Lord” and how true repentance will bring about the great restoration hoped for in the other prophetic books.

The Lord is patience in his judgement, for those that seek their own way, but for those who do not seek refuge in the shadow of his wings of protection, there will be an eternal price to pay.

We are called to be a beacon of hope, to a lost world. We are not called to be a judge and jury. That is not been commanded to us, but to draw those like ourselves, out of condemnation, and into Glory. To share his Good News, that there is hope in one who saves. His name is Jesus.

Happy New Year, brothers and sisters. Out with the old, in with the new. Can’t wait to see what the Lord will do in each of our lives and look forward to hearing about it, from each of you.

Just as God said, this is my son, in whom I am well pleased, he is also pleased in us, his sons and daughters. We are adopted sons/daughters and when we trusted in Jesus for salvation, there is no judgement for those in Christ. We have been perfected in love. Is this not Good News? Let’s shout it from the mountaintops. Jesus is alive, and he sent his Holy Spirit to live inside of us, to those who believe.

Seek the Lord, in his word, and he will guide your ways.

Judgement was coming to the people, if they didn’t change their ways. Self-righteous doesn’t work. A changed heart, brings forth what is necessary. The fruit in the picture, is what flows from it. It is God, who must change the heart.

Our wage, for going our own way, is eternal death, and separation from God. When we turn to Jesus in Faith, who gave his life for our rescue, we are forgiven from destruction, and given the gift of life, both now and for all eternity. Thank you Jesus!

We are imperfect people, yet we are perfected by Gods love, who sent Jesus, the perfect gift, to rescue us from our sin. There should be no fear of judgement, to those who believe. We are his children, whom he loves.

If you seek the truth, with all of your heart, you will find it. The truth is, that one day, God will come to judge the earth for all of mankind. Many will be found guilty, but for those who put their trust and faith in Jesus, even though we are guilty too, will be see as innocent, just like the baby Jesus. That is really good news. It never gets old, remembering the fact that we have been saved, by Jesus supernatural act of his death and resurrection. Hope this gives you tremendous peace, this Christmas season. May God Bless You!

At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
