Lord, watch over and protect those being threatened by all the floods and flood warnings. I especially pray for my sister, who is blocks away from the Missouri River dike. May you give them all wisdom, to know when it’s time to move away from the danger that is close by. Amen.

Have you ever heard your parents say, “If your friend, jumped off a bridge, would you jump off too”? We are all like sheep, following our own path before God, but rather than severe judgement, God provided a solution. He gave his son, Jesus, to take that judgement, that we might live. We get to live life, free from the shame and guilt of our own selves, and give praise and glory, to God for his mercy and grace, and tell all who will listen, of his marvelous love he has shown us. It is not the act of taking of care of widows and orphans, that is pure and undefined religion. It is a changed heart, that compels us to want to do it, through our example of Jesus and his work in our lives. Taking care of widows and orphans, is just one example. May his spirit open our eyes around us, to see the needs.
