Don’t miss the point. It’s not about our good deeds, but about how good the Father is, that we do it. Our good deeds should not point to us, but to Our Father in heaven, who motivates our hearts to do those good deeds.
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Christian = suffering, but with great joy(JAS 1:2). The race is on. We are in a life long race of endurance, embracing the trials, enduring the sufferings, rejoicing in the victories. All the while holding tight to the finish line where we will receive the crown. The reward of a faithful servant, the perfect life where everything will be changed, including ourselves. Slow down, listen for the voice of God, meditate on his word, and act on it. Don’t just think about it. The men in the picture, most definitely acted on it, and came face to face with the Living God.
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.

Why do you do good. Is it to please men, and elevate yourself, or is it to please God? There is a HUGE difference. One is for your own self gratification, and one is for submitting to God.
Love is an action as well as a supernatural gift of the spirit. The action is not just moving our mouth. We are nothing but noise, if our words of love don’t have actions of love, associated with them.
Also, now for the hardest example of Love. The Bible says to Love You Enemys! Meditate on that one for a while….You also cannot do this without meditating on the fact that we were once enemies of God. If not reconciled by Jesus, we would still be God’s enemies!
