THE FALSE RELIGION OF CLIMATE CHANGE

 

Of course the climate is changing as weather patterns have always been in flux ever since the fall, and especially since the time of Noah’s FLOOD. 2 Peter 3:6 speaks of the world that existed before the flood, which then “perished, being flooded with water”. Ever since that time, the world has known [properly defined] the ongoing reality of “climate change”. 

 

The Flood was a major catastrophic event in our earth’s history. So much so, we would say we are still seeing the effects of this event in various ways, and the earth is still reeling from all that happened. – Ken Ham & Jessica DeFord in Climate Change for Kids…and parents too!, p. 67

 

There is absolutely nothing NEW here! In terms of the overall general variations in patterns of weather, there is nothing new under the sun (Eccl. 1:5-9). 

 

What people fail to realize is that MUCH of climate-change fear-mongering is NOT based on observational science. It is based on evolutionary ASSUMPTIONS which are a “religion” for many scientists. Much is based on computer models, not real science. The great debate is over whether long-term climate changes are man-made or not. The data on weather is still very YOUNG with only about 40 years of temperature data on a global scale. Things beyond our control must be factored in, such as “sunspots,” which greatly affect the climate on planet Earth and which run in cycles. Myths such as the polar bears are dying out is NOT true. Their population is actually growing. Climate activists want us to believe carbon dioxide is BAD, but in truth, it is a good “gas” critical to life on Earth. The oceans are rising so very slowly as to be inconsequential. 

 

It seems today that whenever there’s news of a hurricane, cyclone, tornado, or flood we will hear many politicians claim it’s because of man-made climate change. Making such statements without having the real data and being truly scientific about it should make us realize even more that much of this climate alarmism is a religion centered on man and our perceived ability to save ourselves – really worship of man and the environment.

Yes, the earth is growing old like a garment that will eventually be changed by the Lord Almighty (Heb. 1:11-12). Yes, the earth is groaning under the curse of sin (Rom. 8:22). And yes, as mankind we are stewards of the planet and should be concerned about pollution and taking proper care of the earth, etc. (Gen. 1:28). However, lost on the climate alarmist is all the GOOD that fossil fuels have been for the world. The average lifespan has increased! The quality of life is for the better. Radical climate change policies based on bad data and wrong climate models have the potential to be detrimental to huge segments of the world’s population. When politics drives science, the outcome is inevitably BAD and potentially DEADLY! 

 

The great issue with the religion of climate change alarmists is that they don’t believe the God of the Bible when He says: 

 

Genesis 8:22 (NKJV)

22 “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.” 

 

The climate-change activists are wrong! Mankind did not create the world and we are not going to destroy it either. Relax! God’s got this!
